Appointed President and Honorary Patron of St. Polycarp’s Music Department in Belfast

August 8th, 2012

I have recently been appointed the first President and Honorary Patron of St. Polycarp’s Music Department in Belfast. The Music Department under Simon Neill, Director of Music is fast becoming one of the largest music programmes in the Church of Ireland with at present three choirs. The Parish Choir consists of fourteen trebles and over 20 adults singing music such as Vivaldi’s Gloria, I Was Glad, Zadok the Priest to name a few. They have just recorded their first CD of sacred music which will be launched later this year. The Parish Choir regularly tour cathedrals, host concerts and participate in festivals, this year being awarded four first class awards.
