First Blog Entry

May 8th, 2009

Oooh! My first blog entry. I can use more than 140 characters. Yippee!

It’s been very interesting meeting, first, the Chief Inspector of prisons at the Draper’s Hall, and, today talking to Sir David Latham, who is currently head of the Parole Board. What a challenge they both face currently and how extraordinaruly lucky we are to have them both.

I am launching my website on 12 June. How exciting… I will try to build as much interest and profile as possible for the build up to the 2011 launch of my new Foudation (Singing for Seniors/Sing On/Old Voices – still looking for a great name. All suggestions welcome).

Also, my third charity, ‘Voices Unlimited’, which I am establishing to put on glass ceiling-busting performances of choral music (staged Bach Matthew Passion, 2011) to engage new, YOUNG, unexpected audiences. I LOVE what thingy (Old Vic) is doing in the underground tunnels. Superb. But mine will be THE GREATEST MUSIC KNOWN TO MANKIND.

Now I must go and prepare all the music (40 singers) for Voce rehearsal on Monday night (first of the season). I think it’ll take 7 hours. Let’s see…
