  • Last night’s Chelsea Flower Show gala preview was wonderful. Gardens understated this year but heavenly to have the place uncrowded! #
  • Late dinner with business colleagues and LATE back to Cambridge. Set up Harry with Fi for GCSE Revision in my London home! Love you Fi #
  • Where is the Prime Minister??! Parliament is falling apart and not a squeak. 🙁 #

  • ..Also met and bonded with Manon, Ffion’s sister, our Patron’s private sec. Great girl! #
  • Sunday BREAKFAST with Ed and Jess drive back from Cotswalds. BRUNCH with 150 finals students. CARNIVEROUS! #
  • Stayed at over expensive but rather naff (beautiful Cotswalds hotels should never try to be “uber cool”) #
  • Maybe I will stand for Paul Judge’s party!! Parliament is F****D 🙂 #
  • Off now to see the Chelsea flower show (and the QUEEN! :)) #

  • Very special cello recital in Trinity Chapel last night. Natalie Clein played 2 bach suites AND THE AMAZING,.. #
  • .. Kodaly cello sonata. WHAT A SEMINAL WORK and experience for us. A little inter-regnum for Ali’s finals MACRO ECONOMICS study #
  • All yesterday was the Queens’ part of House and Garden shoot on my lifestyle. It’s set to be 10-page spread in Sept issue. #
  • ..they (brilliant photographer Rory, outstanding writer Virginia Fraser) did superb job. Very full-on day, incl. Chapel choir etc… #
  • .. Trying to cover many aspects of my life here in this divine place. #
  • My John says he’s very uxorious, which makes me very happy 🙂 #
  • Oh. I didn’t mention our event at the Russian Embassy on Thurs, preceded by an excellent and reassuring meeting at ARK. #
  • A LOT OF FRIENDS at Russian Embassy for 10th anniversary of my beloved friend, Jean Galitzine’s Galitzine Library in St. Petersburg… #
  • Please – all my followers- become Friends by giving £1 a week to the library. It is wonderful and very important. Let me know if I and HELP #

  • Today we went to Joy’s funeral at Sidney Sussex. In many ways a wonderful occasion marking a clearly wonderful and adored woman. #

  • OH MY GOD yesterday was knackering. 11 solid hours’ photo shoot. Look out for Sept. House and Garden! ‘life style’. 8-page spread. B-) #

  • Well! It took me much LONGER than 7 hours to prepare tomorrow night’s Voce rehearsal material (45 folders!).. #
  • ..basically all weekend. BUT.. #
  • .. I did fit in the Queens’ alumni dinner (’99 metric). Rowdy bunch. AND pre finals brunch for all 3rd/4th year students. AND… #
  • … Garden party (welcome back to Cambridge) at Tony and Sue’s. He was our last ambassador in Russia. Met interesting folk. AND.. #
  • …visiting our admissions tutor (and stalwart tenor of my Fellows’ choir!)’s ADORABLE new twins.. #
  • … AND train back to London prepare for tomorrow’s PHOTO SHOOT (hair – Alison – clothes etc.). AND.. #
  • .. Dinner with Ed and Jess in front of tv. They returned today from excellent vac in SARDINIA. #
  • Deliciously STIFF in all the right places after MAMMOTH gym session with trainer Laurence. Great! #
  • I watched Bourne Identity with FRESH EYES last night now that I know and ADORE the director. Amazing guy. #
